The new 8th edition of the Multiple-Choice and Free-Response Questions with Review Material in Preparation for the AP U. S. Government and Politics Exam contains updated narrative and questions with multiple-choice, free-response and argumentative questions. The narrative is designed to fit the new format with five units and includes results from the 2016 and 2018 elections and some early information regarding the 2020 election. It also addresses recent actions by both the executive and legislative branches of the national government. Recent Supreme Court decisions are included concerning many important issues such as social media, gerrymandering and faithless electors. Teachers and students will find new multiple-choice and free-response questions that have been designed to reflect the new exam format.
The book prepares students for both multiple-choice and free-response portions of the AP United States Government Exam. The narrative information aids student understanding of the concepts that the multiple-choice questions and free-response questions cover. It also includes all the required Supreme Court cases along with non-required cases that fulfill the need to understand other related cases along with the required documents of the new format.
In the 8th edition of Multiple-Choice and Free-Response Questions with Review Material in Preparation for the AP U. S. Government and Politics Exam are over 350 multiple choice questions and 19 new questions relating to the written portion of the exam – FRQs and the new Argumentative questions. Sample multiple-choice and FRQs appear at the end of each unit focused on the information in that unit. Three Sample Exams, with questions based on the new format, are included. The book includes test material that requires analysis of many new and updated maps, charts, graphs, and tables along with cartoons reflecting current trends and issues. The sample questions include required political concepts such as federalism, role of interest groups, voting and elections systems along with comparison of required and optional court decisions.
