We are pleased to announce the publication of the 7th edition of MULTIPLE-CHOICE AND FREE-RESPONSE QUESTIONS IN PREPARATION FOR THE AP BIOLOGY EXAMINATION. The 7th edition has been modified and updated to reflect the current AP biology curriculum. Two new sections about mathematical analysis and laboratory investigations have been added to the book. About 40% of the questions have been changed or updated. There are total of 309 multiple-choice, 38 grid-in, and 48 free-response questions. A new formula sheet has been added for students to use with practice tests. Each question has a complete answer with explanations in the teacher's manual. The book consists of five parts. The first part of the book contains an introduction for students with suggestions for organizing study and review throughout the year. It contains the four Big Ideas of biology and enunciates the science skills that students are expected to have: a strong foundation in biology, as well as experimental, scientific, mathematical and analytic skills. It also contains a description of the current AP Biology Exam. The second part of the book consists of four chapters for each of the four Big Ideas. Each Big Idea is broken down into sections of review material and ends with 30 multiple-choice , 5 grid-in and 6 free-response practice questions at the end of each chapter. The currently designed questions will demand some biological knowledge, data analysis or science practice in each question. The third part of the book includes a complete mathematical section. In this section, each formula given on the AP biology formula sheet is discussed with examples for students. There has been a large transition to mathematical skills as a major focus in the curriculum. The fourth part of the book consists of a brief synapsis of the recommended lab program. There are 13 recommended labs that are explained in this section. The fifth part of the book consists of 3 sample exams simulating the current College Board Advanced Placement Biology Examination with 63 multiple-choice questions, 6 grid-in numerical questions, 2 long free-response questions and 6 short free-response questions. There is formula sheet that has been added to use with the practice exams. Student Answer Keys for all multiple-choice questions are separately packaged. Each class order is accompanied by a
