4th edition, authored by Alan Proctor, contains over 460 new multiple-choice
questions, 3 DBQ, and 16 free-response questions. Section 1 consists of
12 chapters (for time periods 1492-1990) with 25 multiple-choice questions
in each chapter, 1 DBQ, and 4 free-response questions. Section II consists
of 2 sample exams – each sample exam consisting of 80 multiple-choice
questions, 1 DBQ, and 4 free-response questions which simulate the actual
examination. Student answer keys for the multiple-choice questions are
separately packaged. Each class order is accompanied by a FREE
Teacher’s Manual which provides explanations for all questions in
the book.

author of the 4th edition is Alan Proctor, an AP U.S. History teacher
at the Middlesex School in Concord, MA. He was a member of the Test Development
Committee for the AP United States History Examination from 1988 to 1991.
He has been a reader and a Table Leader for the AP United States History
Exam from 1986 to the present.
