he new 5th edition
contains more than 550 multiple-choice questions, 3 DBQ, and 37 free-response
questions. Part I of the book consists of 17 historical epochs (chapters)
totaling nearly 400 multiple-choice questions, 1 DBQ, and 20 free-response
questions. In addition, each chapter is accompanied by an outline containing
the essential material covered in the course. Part II of the book consists
of 2 sample exams – each sample exam consisting of 80 multiple-choice
questions, 1 DBQ, and 6 free-response questions which simulate the actual
examination. More than half of the questions in the book are new while
many of them have been revised retaining the best of the 4th edition.
Separate Student Answer Keys for the multiple-choice questions are included
with each book. Each class order is accompanied by a FREE Teacher's Manual
which provides explanations for all questions in the book.
The author of the 5th
edition is Dr. Ellis Wasson, an AP European History teacher and History
Department Head at the Tower Hill School in Wilmington, Delaware. Dr. Wasson
was a member of the Test Development Committee for the AP European History
Examination from 1986-1989, and has been a consultant for the program since
1984. He now serves as Table Leader for the AP European History Examination.
He also teaches at the University of Delaware.
