We are pleased to announce the publication of a new 3rd edition of MULTIPLE-CHOICE & FREE-RESPONSE QUESTIONS IN PREPARATION FOR THE AP ECONOMICS (“MICRO” & “MACRO”) EXAMINATION. This new edition reflects the change in content emphasis on the AP Economics Examination.
The new 3rd edition consists of two parts: the first half of the book prepares students for the multiplechoice and free-response questions of the AP MICROECONOMICS EXAMINATION. It consists of 5
units totaling 110 multiple-choice questions and 15 free-response questions as well as 2 sample exams, each with 60 multiple-choice questions and 3 free-response questions. The 5 units of the Microeconomics section of the book are: Scarcity and Opportunity Cost; The Price Discovery Mechanism; Cost of Production and Theory of the Firm; Factor Markets; and, Public Finance.
The second half of the book prepares students for the multiple-choice & free-response sections of the AP MACROECONOMICS EXAMINATION. It also consists of 5 units totalling 118 multiple-choice
questions and 15 free-response questions as well as 2 sample exams, each with 60 multiple-choice questions and 3 free-response questions. The 5 units of the Macroeconomics section of the book are: Basic Concepts and Macroeconomic Indicators; Business Cycles and Fiscal Policy; Money, Banking, and Monetary Policy; Aggregate Supply/Aggregate Demand; and, International Economics.
Each class order is accompanied by a FREE Teacher’s Manual which contains all the multiple-choice and free-response questions as well as explanations for all the multiple-choice and free-response questions. Also included in the Teacher’s Manual are actual student answers to the free-response sample exam questions that are graded using a standard AP rubric. The rubric and an explanation for the grade given are included. A course description is included as well. Student Answer Keys for all multiple-choice questions are separately packaged.
The author of the book is James Chasey, a former AP Economics teacher at Homewood-Flossmoor High School in Flossmoor, Illinois. He has been an AP Economics reader since 1995. James Chasey is an
AP consultant for the College Board in the Midwest, conducting many one-day workshops for AP
teachers.
