Computer Science
We are pleased to announce the publication of a new 6th edition of MULTIPLE-CHOICE AND FREE-RESPONSE QUESTIONS IN PREPARATION FOR THE AP COMPUTER SCIENCE (“A” AND “AB”) EXAMINATION.
The primary motivation for the new 6th edition is the creation of a set of questions that prepare students for the AP Computer Science Examinations which reflects the new Java curriculum. Changes
include the new enhanced for loop, generics used with Collection classes, along with the new standard classes Stack, Queue, and Priority Queue.
The new 6th edition has more chapters which focus on specific topics. Additionally, the focus chapters provide more than sample multiple-choice questions. Each chapter briefly summarizes the concepts and provides information about common pitfalls. Many students understand topics well but nevertheless might answer questions incorrectly if they are not aware of the common mistakes that test takers make. The 6th edition has 424 multiple-choice questions and 16 free-response questions (which have two or more parts which reflect the style used on the actual examination). The new edition has approximately 85% new questions that are different from the previous edition. All questions in the 6th edition incorporate the new Java 5.0 features wherever appropriate.
Also available for your students is a Student’s Solutions Manual. The STUDENT’S SOLUTIONS MANUAL TO ACCOMPANY MULTIPLE-CHOICE & FREE-RESPONSE QUESTIONS IN PREPARATION FOR THE AP COMPUTER SCIENCE (“A” AND “AB”) EXAMINATION provides a detailed explanation (solution) for each question in the question book.
The author of the 6th edition is Leon Schram, an AP Computer Science teacher and former member of the AP Computer Science Test Development Committee. He has also been a reader for the AP Computer
Science exam since 1991.
The questions in the new 6th edition are as demanding as students will find on the actual AP Computer Science exam, making its use more on target than other types of review books. This book is the most comprehensive up-to-date book published. It will enable your students to be better prepared. Why not give your students the edge?
