Also included is four sample examinations and a separate chapter on “How to Write Chemical Reactions” – meeting the challenge of question 4 on the examination. The fifth edition contains more than 600 multiple-choice, free response and reactions questions – more than half of them new and all designed to address the full range of concepts of AP Chemistry.

  • The twelve chapters of the book are: Atomic Structure
  • Chemical Bonding
  • Phases: Solid Liquid Gas
  • Solutions
  • Stoichiometry
  • Chemical Kinetics
  • Chemical Equilibrium
  • Thermodynamics
  • Acid-Base Systems
  • Electrochemistry
  • Organic Chemistry
  • Descriptive Chemistry

Also available is a Student's Solutions Manual To Accompany Multiple-Choice & Free-Response Questions In Preparation For The AP Chemistry Examination – supplementing the questions book by providing a step-by-step solution for each multiple-choice, free-response, and reactions question.

The author of three editions of this preparation book, Peter Demmin is a recently retired AP Chemistry teacher at Amherst (NY) Central High School. Dr. Demmin was a member of the AP Chemistry Test Development Committee from 1990-1994 and served as an AP Chemistry Exam Reader for 15 years, most recently as a Table Leader for the AP Chemistry reading held at Clemson University.

David Hostage, co-author of the 5th edition Chemistry book, is head of the Science Department at The Taft School in Watertown, CT. He has been a Reader and Table Leader at the grading of the AP Chemistry examination since 1994. As a member of the AP Chemistry Test Development Committee from 1997–2001, he has also served as an adjunct to the committee for several years. Mr. Hostage was Chemistry Content Advisor for The AP Central Website of the College Board 2002 - 2004. He is active as a consultant to the College Board for AP Chemistry and serves as the Director of the Taft Educational Center, a leading provider of training for AP teachers.

Our AP Chemistry book is generally regarded as the most challenging workbook created for AP Chemistry Examination preparation. Our questions are on a par with those which students find most demanding on the actual AP Chemistry exam; our solutions effectively create a valuable mind-set about introductory chemistry. Make any comparison; you'll find our content more on target than any other review book. Why not give your students the edge?
